“He just likes kids,” is a comment one often hears from the parents of Dr. Richard Canada’s patients. To a pediatric dentist this is indeed a high compliment.
After graduation from Palo Verde High School, in Blythe California, Dr. Canada served in the army and later graduated from the University of California, Riverside. He obtained a biology degree and teaching credential from UCR. He taught high school biology and coached football and baseball for three years before returning to school to earn his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Iowa. He completed a pediatric dentistry residency at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri. Dr. Canada re-entered the Army after graduation. He served a total of 11 years active duty and 12 years in the Reserves before retiring as a Colonel in 2003.
Dr. Canada has been a pediatric dentist in Visalia since 1991. He is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the California Dental Association and the Tulare-Kings Dental Society. For over 15 years he coached youth football, basketball and baseball. He tries to stay active with regular visits to the fitness center. However, his main leisure activity these days is striving to improve his golf game.
Dr. Law has been working as a Pediatric Dentist in Visalia for the past 15 years.
He enjoys interacting with his young patients and their parents. He enjoys making the
kids laugh, which helps in keeping them relaxed during their dental visits.
He is a native of Utah and graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah. He attended Utah State University and graduated with a degree in biology. Subsequently, he attended the Medical College of Virginia where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery
degree. He later completed a General Practice Residency at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Law has resided in Visalia since 1997 and has been active in community activities for kids. He has coached Youth Football, served as a Scout Master, and is currently the Head Track Coach at El Diamante High School.
One of Dr. Law’s favorite activities is hitting the ski slopes in the winter. He has been skiing since he was in grade school and looks forward to the snow arriving in the mountains. He stays active so he can try to stay up with his grandkids.
